CORPORATE PROGRAMS
Current offerings:

THE LANGUAGE OF LEADERSHIP (2-day workshop)
This is an intensive, highly-interactive corporate workshop
in leadership, communication, and presentation skills. In
it we will investigate the types of language that leaders
use to move people towards understanding and action.
We will also practice several specific "speech acts" that
should be found in every leader's toolkit and used
frequently. The learning methods include breath, voice
and body work, skill-practice and role-playing exercises,
writing assignments, small group discussions, videos,
and individual presentations with instructor feedback and
coaching.
PERSUASIVE SPEAKING (2-day workshop)
This workshop focuses on the spoken word in the
corporate environment --how to speak persuasively
one-to-one and to groups so that they understand you and
take appropriate action. We focus here on the human side
of communication rather than on how to make PowerPoint
presentations. We explore the use of imagery,
story-telling, metaphor, repetition, evocative language, and
other key rhetorical devices. You will be individually
coached to increase your effectiveness as a speaker,
without compromising your own unique voice and style.
INTERACTIVE LEADERSHIP SKILLS (2-day workshop)
Leadership is not an attitude or a character trait. It is a set
of actions taken in relationship to other people. In this
workshop we explore the types of actions that make for
effective leading, e.g., talking straight, listening
generously, showing respect, taking responsibility,
expressing appreciation, demanding performance. And
we use Shakespeare as a guide to help us communicate
in such a way that others will follow our lead.

SHAKESPEARE ON LEADERSHIP (1-day workshop)
Shakespeare offers us keen psychological and political
insight into the hearts and minds of people who lead. In
Julius Caesar, Antony and Cleopatra, Coriolanus, Henry
IV and V, Richard II and III, King Lear, The Tempest, and
other plays, Shakespeare presents profoundly relevant
lessons about power -- how to gain it and use it, or, if
you're not careful and conscientious, how to lose it. He
wrote virtual case studies on the threats and opportunities
facing today's leaders, whether that leadership role takes
the form of project team leader, manager, or executive.
